No more saw dust, no more hammering, no more paint fumes. The house is all done and Ken has packed up and gone back home. Robert and I and the cats are now comfy and cozy in our brand new home and we could not be happier or more thankful. We celebrated with many of our friends and family last weekend at what turned out to be the best housewarming party we could have ever imagined.
When we started this project we thought we knew what we’d end up with but it’s not that, it’s so much more. Working on this house day and night with my dad was truly a dream come true and for that I will never be able to repay my parents. How do I thank them for the peace of mind that I now have, for the happiness I feel as I drive up to this house after work, for the pride I feel for contributing to all the work that made this place what it is now?? For now I will simply say thank you. Thank you for your love and your support and your advice and your generosity. I love you more than words can say. I love you more than life itself.
Now enjoy the before and afters

So hard to believe it’s done. And what a beautiful job you and your dad have done. I’m proud of you! xoxo
Wish I could have been there for the party. I’ve enjoyed your blog, especially the pictures, and I’m kinda sad that it’s over. I know you’ll both enjoy this fabulous “new” home for years to come!
I have felt this before: MeebHouse has breathed a huge sigh of relief. She has had years of neglect, and now has had a complete renovation and is full of love and life. She is truly grateful for your love, time and talents.
I am so happy for you. Great job. I can’t wait to visit her in person. (And yes, I think MeebHouse is a ‘girl.’)
What a wonderful journey. Thank you for letting us be part of it. Meebhouse is sooo happy. I could feel it yesterday! All the love and hard work everybody put in especially you and your dad is felt. It is a Home. And yeah it may be a wrap, but we wouldn’t mind if you would keep us up to date with the goings on @ Meebhouse! : )
THIS IS FROM YOUR DAD:
Dear Jenika,
I hated the place you lived in in Hollywood with its dark, dirty underground parking and the underground laundry area straight out of a slasher movie.
When Mom and I drove down and saw the house you found for the first time, I knew instantly, ‘this is it. we can definitely do something to this shack.’ All my life I’ve torn places apart and put them back together. For me it’s as easy as breathing.
The one thing I didn’t realize about the Meebhouse project is how wonderfully talented you are.
You talked about me for months throughout the blog. It definitely was not all me at all. I certainly could tear it apart from bottom to top, From sewer, water, electrical lines, gas lines and windows; roof, flooring and everything else. But you were the designer whose direction I followed. On my own, it never would have looked as pretty as it does now.
You did a very beautiful job. I can’t wait to work with you again. I’m very proud of you.
Love, Dad
Wiping tears away…. Very sweet, and well said.

Great party, fantastic food, even better company and oh the gifts!
I’ll be seeing you soon meebhouse!

There you go! Making me cry again!
Oh my goodness – this is beautiful. I always knew that Uncle Ken had that same gift as my dad – but you blew me away with this one…You are a talented girl, Jen..
Wow! I love everything about it! Especially the eclectic styling throughout with furniture pieces from various eras. You would love my house Jenika…I am the queen of making a home out of everyone elses rejects.
I need you to come visit and give my home your designer flair. You are a real talent.
Reading your dad’s comments about the process and his admiration of your skills nearly brought me to tears. You are so fortunate to have such a skilled and caring father along with an ever talented mother to help you in life’s many journeys. Hugs to all of you for a job well done!
Fantastico, you guys. The house is pretty excellent too
We were so honored to see the finished product. Thank you for letting all of us experience the love and hard work put in by everyone. I will miss the updates and progress reports. No More Mauve has kept me very entertained for quite some time. I will miss it!!
hey there! i am an AT devotee and when i saw the house tour teaser in my email… i couldn’t wait to poke around your house! i am an interior design student in rochester NY, and i too have a father who has taught me the ropes when it comes to construction. i have to tell you that i love LOVE your house. i especially love what you did with the bathrooms. the floor tile and the marble make them so antique lux… seriously i’m a huge fan. you have a gorgeous home. i can’t wait to get mine… someday.
congrats, and so so well done.
(oh and looking thru your before pics, all i could say was “oh no! more mauve?!?”)
I found your home tour on apartment therapy. I saved it in my google reader. I LOVE it. It is just darling. You did an amazing job on everything. The curtains are so so so cute. I am dying to know how you made those.
