I used my floating holiday at work today to go work on the house. There were a bunch of things to do, including choose paint colors and work on molding for all of the doorways. The molding involved so much detailed cutting that Ken had to buy a special router while we were home in the desert this weekend. At one point I pointed out a discrepancy of about 1/16″ and Ken’s defense was, “Hey, we’re not building a piano here!” First time I’d heard that one.
Oooh, what a great piece of machinery. Something to respect for it’s power, for sure. But a wonderful tool!
I love all those paint swatches – kinda how my trip was when I went to pick out paint! Love the final color scheme!!
whoa, wait a minute right there. All of a sudden we’re NOT building a piano? We’ve somehow been hoodwinked!!!!
You got THAT right, Ms. Penny! Hoodwinked again? What a surprise!
I say that it IS a piano…as it should be, right? I LOVE these photos. Looks like the beginning of a book about renovating CA bungalows. I’ll take a percentage if that book project moves forward. Have fun, you guys! Tell your dad to check out my Facebook page for a recent sculpture installation…he’ll like!
I think Ken’s using this project as an excuse to buy new toys!
Ken could have his own “Extreme Makeover” One Man Show! He’s a machine!
yes Deb!! Ken already looks like a mean version of the guy on “Holmes on Homes” and that guy is mean looking to begin with, so I think he could do it for sure. What would be the name of Ken and Jenika’s program for HGTV? Two Noobs and a Pro?
Ruben and Ramon are here checking progress. They say, “Make sure the designer signs off on all of the selections. And on everything you do.” Ramon, “Sometimes it’s hard to work with top designers. They’re picky; don’t frustrate yourself, Ken, with picky designers.” Ruben: “You don’t want to do it twice.”
Ruben & Ramon know what they speak of. Very bright individuals, those two.
I love Pensive Sky. But what goes where? I think I need that piece of information before I can vote on the powder room.
